Derek Seed

Derek started public singing in pubs, aged fifteen where Liverpool meets St Helens in Lancashire, in order to blag beer.  Alas, this no longer happens.

After participating in a series of long-defunct ensembles and clubs in the north-west and Bristol, he appeared on the Sussex folk scene at the (then) Lewes Arms Folk Club in the mid-nineties where he has remained as a resident to the present day.

In 2000 he founded The Shellback Chorus which guested for 100 festivals over the next decade, touring in the USA, New Zealand and Holland.

Nowadays he is more regularly in Sussex leading to the Seaford Folk Club's invitation to join the residents.
