February 17th - Paul Downes

A rare treat instore tonight. Paul has a rich musical background that has progressed through working with Phil Beer, The Arizona Smoke Revue, Pete Seeger and, currently, The Joyce Gang. His sensitive and yet fun approach to his live performances puts him among the most respected artists on the British acoustic music scene today. One of the greatest acoustic guitarists in the world and great singer of songs.

February 24th - Barry and Ingrid Temple
Welcome back to two much loved friends of the club. Barry and Ingrid are singers’ singers so expect wonderful harmonies delivered with wonderful Geordie humour, some of Barry’s own songs and some traditional.

March 2nd - North Sea Gas
One of Scotland’s most popular folk bands with great vocals and tremendous three part harmonies. Guitars, Mandolin, Fiddle, Bouzouki, Whistles, Bodhrans, Banjo and good humour are all part of the entertainment. They have received Gold and Silver disc awards from the Scottish Music Industry Association and regularly have sell out shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe!!

March 9th - Lynne Heraud and Pat Turner
Lynne Heraud & Pat Turner are two of the most experienced and established harmony singers on the folk scene. They have a leaning towards traditional English material, but occasionally diversify and perform their own material and Victorian/Edwardian songs. Their interpretation of both contemporary and traditional material is sensitive, moving and has plenty of humour.  The Old Tarts are back!!

March 16th - Singers and Musicians
Come and enjoy our monthly do it ourselves night, either to perform or to listen. The unexpected is always with us.

March 23rd - Hatful of Rain and also see a sample video here
Hatful of Rain are a bluegrass influenced British folk/roots band based in Sussex. Playing original material, Hatful of Rain strive to combine powerful song-writing with musical virtuosity whilst retaining a strong traditional feel.

March 30th - Black Strap Molasses
Old friends of the Club, Black Strap Molasses is an Eastbourne based band who perform mostly modern singer songwriter folk, including Jim Page, John Gorka and Mary Chapin Carpenter.

April 6th - Singers and Musicians Night

Come and enjoy the great atmosphere at another Singers and Musicians night, either as a performer or as part of the audience.

April 13th - Derek Gifford
Derek Gifford has been singing folk songs for over 30 years and, since retirement from the 'day job', is now occupied as a full time folk performer. It has been far too long since the lad from Lancashire was last here.

April 20th - Roy Clinging
A strong vocal style and adept use of the English concertina and acoustic guitar have confirmed Cheshire-based Roy as a highly respected performer and interpreter of traditional music

April 27th - Barber and Armer

May 18th - Martin Curtis  
New Zealand Singer and Songwriter who has been writing and singing songs about his adopted country for well over 25 years.

May 25th - Vicki Swan and Jonny Dyer
Although best-known for their instrumental skills with Scottish smallpipes, accordion and even Swedish nyckelharpa, the duo are well recognised for their songs arrangements too.  With their blend of traditional material and contemporary interpretations, they have developed a sound that is both familiar and fresh.

June 8th - John Kelly
Known by many as Harmonium Hero, He sings and plays so beautifully, that you could hear a pin drop. His ‘Lakes of Ponchartrain’ made me think I was really there.

June 15th - Mistaken Identity 
A five-part "old-boy" band, singing mainly a cappella harmony arrangements of many of your favourite songs.

June 22nd - Greg Russell 
Greg has caused quite a stir.  He is an extremely talented young singer, guitarist and song-writer who is maturing rapidly and comes with Roy Clinging's recommendation.

June 29th - Singers/musicians
Your last chance to share your favourites. These evenings are proving ever more popular so arrive early

We are closed during the summer until 14 September so enjoy your holidays and we look forward to seeing you all again then.
